Right,

Wood size is intimidating as is complexity. Lets think along these lines..

1) Flying a freeflight airplane indoors
2) Flying said airplane over 30 seconds (a millenium to a young novice)
3) Time a flight and explain how a longer flight is better.
4) Keep the design VERY KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
5) Stay away from Delta Dart-ish frame and covering types, too much time for short attention spans, too much skill to build.
6) Quick, in the air, 5 orbits to land to whet the appetite.
7) THEN show the build. Seeing the potential design fly will work wonders.
8) Work up some competition.
