Poles again

I measured my "40foot" telescoping pole today. It measured about 32'11" completely open. It came with an extra tip so the only thing I can figure is that they count the extra tip to get the total length. My 11 meter put over pole measures about 34' with one tip and 33' with an alternate tip.

My put over pole is MUCH stiffer than the telescopic one. It takes longer to put together and the collapsed length is 5' vs. 2'-8" for the telescopic one. There's also a problem with what to do with the extra sections if you're on the floor steering and don't need the full height.

I guess you just pay your money and take your choice. Now that I've fixed all the breaks I'm probably going to go back to the put over pole for the extra stiffness. If you're trying to steer at 30' up and the pole is moving in a different direction from what you intend then the consequences can be pretty nasty.
