I believe that the MA article said they flew all night during the last R/C contest. Might be another possibility.

Those are good questions, Steven. These types of buildings need constant pressurization to stay inflated. Surprisingly though, my experience has been that the pressurization fans do not seem to create significant turbulence. *However*, the thin walls conduct temperature changes from sunlight and create convection currents. The inflatable sites I have been in are very flyable, but better when the convection inducing conditions aren't present (the one that used to be in Flint got unstable at the end of the day).
