I assume your bracing is supported at two points? (mine just has one
post at the stick midpoint).

Even so, I'd be surprised if there was much difference between
adjusting it at one point vs. the other. I think the post's resistance
to bending would be much less than the force of either the motor stick
trying to straighten out or the motor trying to bend it.
