Hi All,
I just received a call from Andrew Tagliafico about the Kibbee Dome and he has asked me to
pass on bad tidings about the '09 meet. It was already known that the ends of the Dome had
to be (must be) replaced in the near future. Unfortunately, the near future is here! Starting in
March (after the snow is gone) both ends will be replaced and brought up to something
resembling code before winter and more snow. For some reason 2 x 2's and plywood sheet
don't seem to be acceptable anymore.
At this time Andrew doesn't know if the rest of the projected work will be done at this time.
This work involves lowering the floor about 15' and adding an extra section of seats where
the running track now is for TV purposes. The ceiling would also be lowered the same
amount and flattened off (great for us). The number I heard is around $50,000,000 for the
whole project so don't hold your breath. We will probably all be too old to fly when this part
happens.
Anyway, no Kibbee Dome for '09 but '10 should be on.
