Just to place on record the achievements of a very special modeller and
friend. Roy celebrated his 86th birthday last week. In the late 1930s
he flew Wakefields in the British team selection meetings. I first knew
Roy in 1947 when he was flying Wakefields and power models. Through the
1960s and 1970s he became competitive internationally flying F1C.
During the past 10 years Roy has become hooked on indoor duration and
has had considerable success with F1L. This year he has been flying his
first F1D. Quite an achievement and I am sure we all wish him well.
