That is a useful calculator for torque wires but does it not need a warning
to also check the stress in the wire? I think the formula:

Stress = pi G D/ L will give the stress for one complete revolution.

If this value goes above about 100,000 lb/sq in. I think the wire would
probably take a permanent set on the first full wind.
