Fred's list of goals, below, sums it up quite well, for me. It appears that
if we were to reference the FAC rules, which includes tissue covering, we
would have two issues to resolve: Minimum weight & scoring. To keep scoring
simple I would use the current USIC method which is single best flight with no
maximum time (FAC has a 120 second Max.) Personally, I would favor a 3 gram
minimum weight. I think this would encourage more variation in the designs.
If there is interest in a volunteer team to address these issues I would be
interested in participating. However, I will be gone for 12 days beginning
tomorrow with no Internet access, so maybe you all will have this fully
resolved well before I return!
Fred, we did come up with a set of standardized A-6 rules. Did the USIC use
them this year?
