Gary Hodson was a member of a volunteer team effort to standardize the A-6
rules. They appear to have succeeded. Maybe a similar volunteer team will
address USIC No-Cal rules.

Several of you have flown No-Cal extensively. Perhaps a lighter minimum
airframe weight is desirable -- maybe 3 to 4 grams.

Possibly the goals of any change in minimum required airframe weight should
be:

(1) Encourage more people to fly the event.

(2) Encourage building and flying more different designs.

(3) Maintain the concept that expert skills are not required to participate
in this event.

(4) Keep compatibility as much as possible with FAC Rules. Maybe minimum
weight would be the only deviation from FAC rules.

(5) Maintain tissue covering.

(6) Leveling the playing field or preventing dominance by expert flyers is
NOT a goal. The experts will win most of the time and that is the most
prevalent definition of expert modeler.

Currently Hosler Furies dominate at the USIC. Furies are ugly on the table
and beautiful in flight. (What would I know about beautiful? I flew a White
Monoplane Canard Pusher for years. Not competitive, but interesting.Currently
