Instead of "strength", I should have said, "ability to hold shape."
For example, in the case of USA ezb, the lightest, thinnest wood
possible (down to grain holes that appear at .0055") it still "strong"
enough, but seems we angle the grain for additional *rigidity.* I've
never seen a blade acquire additional camber, and wasn't aware of this
tendency, but have seen them lose twist.
