For Pennyplanes, I wouldn't hestitate to use nice A or (almost by
defintion) not-so-nice B grain for a prop, at least for low ceiling
work, where (relatively) whimpy blades may help you. At least one such
B grain prop gave me regular 15s in Cat 1, and a 16+ one nice day.
It's good to follow directions, I understand, but don't let this small
hurdle wreck your building progress. In THIS case.
