Prop hub - paper tubes

Started working on some new hubs for F1M and later F1D. The thing that
makes me wonder is the use of paper tubes to hold the blades. I have been
using them as they make adjusting and changing the blades so easy. But the
tubes seem to be heavy - a pair of 2.5mm (1/10") tubes about 12mm (1/2")
long weight almost 100mg. Am I making my tubes too heavy, or are they just
like that? Is there a better way to attach blades to the hub?
