That's possible, but historical evidence isn't on the AMA's side. For
example: NAA has a $35 FAI license renewal but, since the AMA has
a "special deal" requiring us to go through them, we get to pay the
initial $55 each time.

I get the sense that these things aren't so much malicious intent by
our AMA folk (with a few exceptions), but rather the worst of
government type beauracracy: it is the way it is, and nobody is
motivated enough to make it better.

I can't count the number of times AMA has depressingly quoted some non-
published "rule" to justify an unfavorable decision while
simultaneously failing to perform a documented function. But I
digress :)
