Okay, after playing with google this is what I learned about this lovely
situation. On the FAI web page for records
http://www.fai.org/records/checklist there is a mention of an administrative
fee of 100 CHF being charged to our NAC aka the AMA. 1 Swiss franc =
0.899928 U.S. dollars (google) Thus, the AMA was build $89.99 for your
record. Hence we are
left with the most shocking discovery I made on google tonight; the AMA is a
Non-Profit organization. Clearly, the policy of
skimming money like the extra $25 we pay for FAI stamps, is extended to all
FAI transactions.
Bill, your record is ratified on the FAI website for all to view, I wouldn't
worry too much about forcing the AMA to pay for their trips to Starbucks.
