I am deeply saddened by the loss of Doc Hacker. My father and I met Hack on 04/12/1969. The reason I remember this date is that Hack helped me win my first Indoor Trophy on that day. Hack took me under his wing and encouraged me to continue in this fascinating hobby. This was before computers and I guess long distance phone calls were to expensive for us at that time so we corresponded by mail for some time.My dad and I got to be good friends with Hack and his son Dale who also flew indoor . Hack has been instrumental in mentoring many fliers and always had time to promote the hobby. We'll miss you Hack! Tom Sova

It is with great sadness that I report to the indoor community the
loss of Doctor Vernon Hacker. He will be greatly missed. Perhaps we
can get the AMA to print something about Hack for all his help with
getting kids interested in indoor over the years as well as the
support for the FAI Junior Team.
