Re: Really Old TV Coverage of Indoor Free Flight

I recently was talking with Dan Marek who lives near Columbia
University in New York City. Up until a few years ago he was part of
the group that flew Indoor FF in the Columbia Rotunda. But, one of
the Columbia University officials got huffy and they lost access to
the space. Dan now flies Outdoor FF with the Brooklyn Skyscrapers at
Wawayanda.

I have been trying to find New York City (NYC) Indoor Modelers that
have an indoor flying space but so far no luck. I may have to try to
get to Lakehurst or Teaneck for their flying sessions but I don't own
a car so would have to rent one each time to travel - (costs
$450/month to park a car in NYC.)

I am starting my rounds of the Police Athletic League, Parks
Department, and local HS's to see if I can find a location that would
look favorably on Indoor Modelers. Even a 25' ceiling would give room
to trim out smaller Indoor FF models.

If there are any other FF modelers out there, living in NYC, that
either have a NYC flying location or want to find one please contact
me. I am building a lot of kits and scratch built rubber power models
but really have no place to adequately trim them out.

Hope springs eternal.
