No need to wash off, and you could barely wash silicone anyway. It is
inert enough not to harm rubber in any way.

Never weighted my indoor motors for the amount of lube, as the motors come
lubed anyway :) When making 30 gram motors, I cut the rubber to 29.4 grams
(about), add 1 gram of silicone, and after break-in cut the ends of the
knot, and if the motor is still overweight, wipe away some lube. So I
guess I have 2 to 3% of the motor weight of lube. I suppose in indoor less
is sufficient, as 2-strand motors will not rub against strands as bad as a
28-strander.
