I don't, after carefully weighing motors before and after washing and
realizing I can't (with dish soap n water) completely wash off all
lube anyhow, at least the silicone types. The glycerine and green
soap types seem to wash off the most, however. Many F1B flyers have
told me they store lubed motors for years to no apparent bad effect.
(The psychological effect is another story, after someone
says, "storing lubed ruined my motor.") But it's the old attribution
problem- "What*causes* what?", compared with "What *correlates* with
what."

After having models for several events, I would be intitutionalized
by the state if I had to wash every motor before storing.

For my F1d motors, .005 g seems plenty, but I can't get that little
amount properly applied using the thick stuff, so I use "medium viz"-
not syrupy and not watery. For other events, I'll just grab any lube
from my wardrobe of 5 or 6 different kinds. They all work well. FAI
Slicklube is underrated, IMO.

As always, your mileage will vary.
