Making motors to weight...

I use two overhand knots one tied in the opposite direction of the
other. Tie one tight, tie the other and pull it down to the other
knot, Trim off the ends and weigh. If it is too heavy, tie another
overhand knot pull it up tight.. Cut the outer knot off. Repeat until
you get your desired weight.

I first heard of this from Fred Tellier, I think he has drawings on
his website.
