Richard,

I agree, the rules can be confusing. It a matter of too many people
in the rules committees, too many wordsmiths and way to many lawyer
types trying to find loopholes. All this clutters the presentation.

There is an saying in Science Olympiad, "If your kid wants science
as a career, they can try any event except Mission Possible and
Wright Stuff. Those two events are for those planning to be lawyers."

As for the BLG rules, those rules are "wide open" as this was the
first year in official status. We wanted to allow more innovation
and view the trends before we select areas to key on. This is so
that we can slowly tighten up the rules where needed in the future.
Plus, BLG is a new concept and we could not fallback on even AMA
rules for reference.

BTW, thanks for officiating. The SO flying events are noted for
having the least arbitrations, nationally. I believe its because of
the quality of our officials.
