All tis discussion reminds me of one of the first indoor models that I
built as a teenager. A simple, japanese tissue covered PP-type model, with
a offset towhook. That is a simple way to circle-tow the model, the hook
is to the inside of the curve, thus the pull forward opposites the rudder,
while pull down tends to increase the turn. With a simple pull-release
hook (the hook on the model is a closed loop, and the "ring" at the
towline end is not closed, but has two ends of the wire touching each
other so that a pull strong enough slips the "ring" off the hook). Thes
the line keeps attached, until a sharp pull releases the model. This kind
of setup can be used in outdoor models, of course indoor there are no
thermals and thus no need to circle-tow...

I used to lie on my back in the living room, and circle-tow my model above
me. But found no thermals so I got bored pretty quickly... :)
