Boron is a reinforcment fiber, looks like stiff black wire, .003
or .004" diameter. We embed strands of boron in or on balsa spars and
motorsticks. Ray Harlan sells .004 boron. Check his brochure.

It's brittle, and very necessarly to catch all the scraps to prevent
from poking skin and breaking off under skin.
