It has already started! The US Team Selection cycle runs for about two
years, leading up to the finals that tend to be held around Labor Day
in the year before the WC (which means 2007 this time). Last time the
finals were held a bit earlier (July), since it was held during the
Kibbie Dome Annual. But there is definitely still time.

The process is to fly in a regional (which may involve organizing one
yourself if there aren't already any near you), attain a time within
75% of the leader, and get to the finals. USIC and Moscow are both
regionals, too - unless, of course, Moscow ends up being the finals
site this year.

I will upload the 2004 Team Selection program that Steve put together
to the files in a sec for reference shortly. The current program
should be pretty close, I'd assume.

Based on my observation of the past few Jr. teams, I'd suggest that it
is perfectly fine for an SO level kid (even one of the BLG people) to
hack together an F1D for a regional at this current stage of the
selection cycle. Determination is a whole lot more important than
skill level at this point. Get something flying and participate in a
regional, and you are are right on track. This last Jr. team has
shown, once again, how far they can progress in a short period of time.
