Hack,
I have added the following over at BLG in hopes of promoting the
next generation of F1D flyers. If I have stated something
incorrectly...I do apologize...I tried my best from my own "limited"
knowledge. If anyone else has suggestions on how to promote the next
generation… please bring them up.

FLYERS WANTED

For those who have a love for flying already or those who will learn
to love flying this year through the BLG…you may be interested in
advancing to F1Ds sometime down the line. F1D's are indoor rubber
powered planes. In the past…many Science Olympiad students who
participated in Wright Stuff have advanced their careers and flown
F1Ds during AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) Competitions. Wright
Stuff was a great introduction into the art of Indoor flying.
However, when that event disappeared from the Middle School Division…
so did the opportunity for students to learn more about flying
rubber powered airplanes.

If you think you may be interested in flying rubber powered
airplanes at some point…check things out at the AMA website:
http://www.modelaircraft.org/ or contact an indoor mentor. There are
plenty of people willing to mentor students with F1Ds. They are
looking for that next generation of flyers who want to keep this art
form and hobby alive.

FYI…The Junior US F1D team is currently competing this week at the
World Championship located in an old Romanian salt mine. As of
yesterday the US team was in 1st place. There are no articles or
releases for this year just yet…however, there is an article
(including pictures) from the 2002 event at:
