Gary Hodson asked, "I recall reading (somewhere) that indoor scale planes
should be trimmed as follows:

- High wing trimmed to fly clockwise.
- Low wing trimmed to fly counter clockwise.

"I don't recall reading the reasoning behind this..."

Gary, that's because there is no reasoning behind it. It's one of free
flight scale modeling's most persistent and misleading urban myths.

For example, I have two high-wing cabin scale models, a 27" Porterfield
Collegiate and a 21" Farman 400. The Porterfield flies nicely to the left;
the Farman flies very nicely to the right. I do not consider the Porterfield
to be an aberration, and I'm not alone among fliers of high wingers. A
survey of modelers flying low wingers would produce similarly mixed results.
