Nick,

That was one of the known issues with Y2K(2). The film had great variations
in thickness and some spots were so thin it tore in handling. If I remember
correctly, Jerry Combs had made mention of having a roll with areas that
just tore. I think he also said that when he got areas that worked the
material was on the heavy end.

I use the static guard sprays and spay it on my cover surface, mist it in
the air over the area I am covering on and have even sprayed the roll with a
mist. Works great a killing the static. I am in Denver where we don't know
what the word humidity means so I know you can work it successfully without
doing it on a humid day.
