Nick,
Some modelers claim that handling a dryer sheet ("Bounce" in this household) or maybe touching it to the roll of film helps reduce static cling. I've never done it myself, but should try it.
I do know that your relative humidity as I write this is about 95%, since mine is about 99% and your weather usually comes to me 2-4 hours later. You will have high humidity early today.

I'm having trouble getting film off a roll, To night I opened a new
roll of Y2k and started to on roll a piece. About 6inches into the
unrolling the film started to rip in the middle of the sheet. The
tears are very thin. almost like razor blade cuts. I think this is
being caused by excessive static. Any Ideas about how to fix it?
