I learned this from someone at USIC, I don't remember who, sorry.

I use a very clean sheet of posterboard. I put the roll on one edge of
the posterboard and then work an edge loose and use the static
electricity to attach the loose film to the posterboard and roll out
the film. The static causes the film to stick to the board. I use a
very soft brush to work out the wrinkles and then flop the film frame
onto the film. Before cutting off the film I run a strip of masking
tape along the edge of the frame and cut off the film leaving the
masking tape on the foll of film.

The masking tape makes getting the next piece off of the roll much
easier.
