Buffalo Contest

The air was very good though it was cold inside. The lower light levels
made it a nice site to fly. I flew all day and never once steered a
model. Had several LPP flights up near the top and never drifted to the
side. Unfortunately, the attendance was very low and I hope they did not
loose so much money they cancel the contest for good. All who use to go
to that contest but do not because of the 'goofy" air in the past, well
the situation has been fixed withthe every third light on scheme. The
outside temp was about 40 degrees and the winds were 20-30 mph all day
and overcast.

> In previous years, the air was *very* turbulent above the lights (about
> 60% up) – presumably because the lights were very hot. This limited
> the effective "ceiling" for duration flying.
