Stoy's Folding Wing HLG

During a recent visit to the AMA museum I snapped a camera pic of the
folder Stan Stoy used for the CAT II record back in 1979. Remember
that back then Cat II was up to and including 75', and Cat III was
unlimited.

On the description it states the record was set at the Midwestern
States Champs. (I added the pic to the glider album) Does anyone
know if this is the same building the current Midwestern States
Champs are held in? Also does anyone know what the record time was
in the 75' building? A change in the rules ultimately removed the
record from the books, but I am curious what the time was under 75'.
I know he did over 90 seconds in an unlimited ceiling. I think in
one of the hangers and in Japan?

Kurt, do you have some background on this? It would be an
interesting discussion, as I have always been intrigued with this
glider, and many may not know about the history of it. I think it
would be cool to give this a try as an unofficial event. I foresee
an international challenge. DLG may be on the verge, but I think the
folder would still reign supreme if it were legal.

There is also a beautiful F1D in the museum by Bill Shailor, and an
old style ROG cabin, Ministick, and several scale models.
