Thanks, Bill - that makes sense. We had noticed that the cg is way back for this plane, but
the student built it pretty beefy, ended up right at 8 grams, and he had no way to shift the cg
forward, so we decided just to try flying it. Initially, it flew fine, so we didn't think it was a
problem. . . I'm guessing that in this condition, the plane would be very sensitive to small
incidence changes?

Yes, we are. The dummy stick is 1/3 of the hook to hook length and 1/3 the mass of a whole
motor. And am I correct, that a full loop should fly about 1.5 times as high, and as long, as a
2/3 loop wound and launched the same, with the same trim?
