I suggest that your students get more Tan SS and practice winding. You
should almost always wind to maximum capacity and then back off
turns. This will allow you to get more out of the rubber. I don't
really know why this works, only that it does. Each piece of rubber
has it's own maximum number of turns and as you gain experience you
will be able to tell when you are getting close to the breaking point.

Make sure that the rubber is lubricated and go slowly. If you watch
the top flyers they all wind carefully and seem to get more time out
of the same rubber than the "average" flyer.
