I have found out that the static caused by stripping the rubber will affect
the reading, even with a beam balance although it is superior to the cup or
whatever. If the rubber is pulled even slightly to the supporting mechanism,
the reading is affected. Wait 24 hrs and the static has gone. A
recommendation to cut rubber in advance if possible.
