Re: Flying Sites, OH and Hi Everbuddy
Good call Steve, saves me the time of digging it up. One thing about
rental rates that I learned when we gained access to the Prime
Osborne Convention Center here in Jacksonville is that "You don't
have to pay the price on the Tag" so to speak. Normal rental for the
P.O. is $1500 a day, we got it for just over $400. Terms can be
negotiated. Factors that can affect what you end up paying are
picking off season times to use the site, not requiring alot of
advance reservation time, and finding a reason for the
owner/operators to want you to be there like affiliating yourself
with the Boy Scouts or Science Olympiad. (yes Mark I said SO not WS.
I have a feeling there's a broader politcal base that could be tapper
there)
We now fly regular session at the Nazarene Church in Rockledge, FL,
right next door to Palm Bay. We acquired this site though Ed Archer
who is member of that church. So what the heck, why not start
visiting churches and see what kind of facilities they have? Maybe
join one? Not trying to trample on anyone's religious toes or the
lack thereof but I've done worse things to get to fly model
airplanes...
