tissue tubes

Probable dumb question (;-')

Just wondering why round tissue tubes and the required round posts are
use for indoor wing or stab mounting ? It just seems to me to be much
simpler to use square tubes, then square stock to fit, also much
easier to get a good glue joint with the flat surface.
