Two 24x24 sheets come to $62 plus shipping against $51 delivered for Lexan from Aircraft Spruce. The first site that I found claims that it "approaches" the strength of polycarbonate. So Lexan's stronger. And less costly. Meanwhile, I picked up an 11x14 sheet (5 winders worth) of .093 Lexan from the Home Despot. Comes to 6¢/sq in. and I don't like working with it as the backing sheet is semi-transparent and I can't see markings on it. The Bayer product (opaque white backing film) that Spruce sells is 4.4¢; the only problem is that I have to buy about 40 winders worth. If I live to 90, that's 5 winders a year. There may be a market for that. If not, it won't be the only thing my heirs will have to toss.
