Information from longtime Round Valley CD and 2019 Nats CD Tom Gaylor
regarding turbulence near the center of the Dome.
Tom writes, "The previous problem with turbulence is gone since the
vents have been repaired (see last year’s CD report). In past years,
strong winds would pull the vents open slightly (think aerodynamics with
that round roof). It is a fun place to fly, and if you look at the event
records, great times can be posted."
From the 2018 RVD Contest report:
"The vents in the top of the dome have been repaired and there were no
drafts in the stadium, even though there were strong winds outside."
