The machine finally made it to Dave this afternoon. It appears intact, although the packaging doesn't look very virgin anymore. May not even be the original box.

 The local postmaster says that sending it Priority Mail probably would've avoided all the problems and it isn't much more expensive. Have to talk to my son the accountinator about the sales tax thing.
