Leo,      Even though this does not impact me, I admire that you worked on getting a statement and the FAI Jury has made a specific interpretation of the BOM rule.
Don,        I also thank you for the clarification with respect to AMA events.
Good communication and clarity!

Cheers,Kurt

Many thanks to Leo for getting this worked on and the info posted on
this group!

I do want to mention for clarity for USA modelers that this Jury
Statement on VP hubs is an FAI BOM rule clarification and applies only
to FAI events. It does not apply to the AMA BOM rules. So USA AMA
classes like Hand Launched Stick, Intermediate Stick, Pennyplane,
Autogiro, AROG, AMA Cabin , and any other AMA Indoor class which is
allowed a VP prop must follow the AMA BOM rules. I talked to the AMA
today and purchased VP hubs will be considered as a violation of the AMA
BOM rule. So while you can freely buy hubs for F1D, F1M, and F1R, those
hubs will not be allowed to be used on AMA classes at an AMA contest or
for setting AMA National records in AMA classes. For example using a
purchased VP hub is OK for F1M, but that purchased hub cannot be used on
AMA Pennyplane. Another example, buying a F1D VP hub and using it on an
AMA Intermediate Stick model. AMA national records for the FAI classes,
F1D, F1M, and F1R will be allowed to use purchased hubs as these classes
follow the FAI rules so are not considered under the AMA BOM rules.
