Last week we posted a call for timekeepers for the 2018 Indoor World Championship next March at West Baden. We now have a better idea of the number needed. The details of what a timekeeper will do and the food and lodging provided are in that post. That post can be downloaded or read at:

All US fliers (or others who have timing experience) who submit an application on or before December 15, 2017, will probably be offered a timekeeper position. After that date we will open the timekeeper positions to those who will accompany their nations’ teams to the World Championships. We have had many inquiries about timekeeper positions from those connected to the non-US teams but we wanted to give the US fliers the first chance. We cannot promise that positions for US timekeepers will be available after December 15th.

The pre-entries for the Indoor World Championship are 50% more than expected so we need more timekeepers, over 32. So, we are asking the US free flight community to help out. The event is all volunteer. The only positions that are not timekeepers are the International Jury, the Contest Director, and the Technical Director. Timekeepers will do more than just time as they are responsible for processing the models before each flight, verifying the times, and entering the times into the system, and helping with other duties.
