I agree that this is a good idea. I suspect that there will still be a gap up high that will allow the jet stream (and model caught therein) to move.

 I had thought that it might be a good idea to cover the hanging wire cables (that support the curtains on the rods) with 3" poly insulation tubing (like pools noodles) so that the models would not catch the wire between the wing and prop but just bounce off. This could be installed when the curtain rods are in the lowered position and just pushed up the the height desired. I put the idea aside for time and cost reasons (the cost was not that high but significant compared to revenue).
