Adding WS as an official or provisional event is what I would prefer doing.
I've approached several people with this idea (including Tom Sanders) and
all have said it sounded good and doable.

The obvious plus for going this route is that you will have thousands of
kids across the country who ALREADY HAVE models built. So you wouldn't have
to do a massive advertising campaign to get kids to buy kits or build a
model from a plan.

I envision that the primary rule for AMA WS would be that the SO rules
would be automatically adopted each fall as soon as they are available. For
years that WS is out of the SO cycle the last set of rules would apply
until new ones came out.

Since SO probably wouldn't want to share the Wright Stuff name, then the
AMA event would need a different name. One of Tom Sanders suggestions is
SO_can_we.

The problem with this plan at this point in time is whether it could be
done as a cross proposal or whether it would have to wait for the next
rules cycle. I will poll the contest board members to see what their
feeling is. Hopefully some of them will respond.
