I believe the thought process is this:
We need to bring in some new blood.
So how do you attract new fliers?
When I was a kid, the local clubs flew an event called Blatter 40. Similar to Phantom Flash in many ways.
Rules were simple, plastic prop, easy to build/learn/trim.
2 minute flights were doable.
It was bait and I got hooked.
P-18 is just a newer attempt at creating bait that would be attractive to new fish, er, fliers.
I have a kit at home waiting to be built.
I should whip it up some night soon to bring it to Rantoul and try it out so I have some first hand experience.
