I would be a little scared to use a lamp with a flame anywhere near
microfilm. I've always slackened microfilm mechanically with some narrow
masking tape.

I am curious to try shrinking film using an Infra-red heat lamp as Bilgri
mentions in a different article I haven't posted yet. I want to try a wing
with elliptical dihedral, and shrinking the film would produce a nicer
finished product. Of course I can imagine it would be easy to shrink too
much and ruin a wing.
