Neil, there are actually two of them on there. The Smithline design is a pure autogyro for ROG...probably a very nice flier but not terribly competitive unfortunately. Great for sport flying though. The Ralph Brown one isn't much different from the modern designs. Would be competitive with a braced motorstick and built up prop. Probably easier to fly than the Smithline, too. It might benefit from having the rotor offset about 1" to the left.
