For what it's worth ( from a guy that flies very few events) I don't think culling events is the way to go. Once things are taken off the books, they usually are gone forever. Increasing participation is a much better way to do it.

The question is how do we increase participation in these events? One solution may exist within the indoor clubs themselves. What about every month (or whatever your club meeting/contest interval is) one of the lesser flown events is a featured event. Perhaps weight it's score for club overall standings ( if you club does that sort of thing). Basically, provide a small incentive to indoor club members to build and fly these events.

Online (postal) contests could also work. Organize a contestant list either here on HPA.

If we approached this with a multiple year outlook (renew interest in one or two events per year) we may be able to increase some participation.
