You won't be able to keep the torque constant but you can minimize how fast
it climbs by moving in. You should be at 100% of maximum torque when you
get all the way in.

Yes you can use the Ikars props without making a new hub. As you probably
already know, I recommend removing all the blade area behind the spar.

It's actually easier to make the carbon rod hub than it is to sand the
blades thin enough to have any real effect - at least in my opinion.
