Hi
The 2015 Wright Stuff rules intrigued me, so I gave it a try. I posted my results on RC Groups and I also had some helpful comments from other builders.

The 240 mm prop rule gives a lot of leeway for experimentation. I used a tub for pineapple from the grocery store to build a plastic bladed prop I could adjust in pitch and blade width. I also had good performance from a 225 mm Diameter Ikara prop with thin plastic blades. Of course, I only scratched the surface of what could be done with props. As far as rubber is concerned, there was a good spread sheet to calculate torque versus turns put up in the files on this group by Fred Rash. Well lubed 3/32 wide rubber will take over 100 turns per inch of loop. The other responders covered rubber pretty well. Wing incidence and CG placement will influence climb and drag as a function of airspeed, so must be part of your experimental plan.

I've gotten up to 3 minutes with my plane, Good luck with yours.
