I had a great conversation with Andrew over the weekend. I offered to
assist him in planning this year's contest, and he's agreed to let me
help. Andrew is approaching 90 years old, and he's ready to hand the event
off so he can finally be just a contestant. If all goes well I'll take
over the event in 2017.

Now on to discussing Kibbie 2016.

First I'd like to state that nobody has said the contest will be $300. I
don't believe it has ever been more than $200, and I'm working on
strategies to bring that number down. I'm going to pursue sponsorship and
fundraising to lower the entry fee as much as possible. I will also post a
poll to gauge how the entry fee affects participation.

You'll see more from me over the next couple months as we work to lock in
dates and determine costs. The only real window of availability is in late
June, so we don't have too much flexibility in that regard. I'll do my
best to keep everyone informed as things develop.

Regards,
Jake Palmer
