The solvent in Bestine is heptane. One can actually buy Bestine solvent (pure n-heptane) but I usually buy Coleman camp stove fuel which is 99%+ heptane. Some people just buy naphtha, which is mainly heptane but has other hydrocarbons left in by the distallation process. Fred, being a chemist would know more about the latter.
